Below is the course structure for our two course variants.
OA = Online Academics / CW = Confined Water / OW = Open Water

Schedule A (Fri/Sat/Sun Practical):
Day 1*: OA1 Via Zoom - 530-8pm
Day 2*: CW1 4PM-8PM at ESQ REC Centre
Day 3: OW1 9AM-12PM OW Adventure (Dive Site TBD)
Schedule B (Sat/Sun Practical):
Day 1*: OA1 Via Zoom - 530-8pm
Day 2*: CW1 830AM-1230PM at ESQ REC Centre & 2PM-5PM OW Adventure
Medical Forms are organized and managed by each student. Once registered students have a duty to support their program by completing their medical form with Doctor’s Stamp and Signature included SHOULD IT BE REQUIRED. If there are any questions regarding the medical form it’s the students’ duty to ask and be on top of it well prior to their course dates. Failure to organize your own medical form prior to your course is not grounds for rescheduling or cancelling your course with Bottom Dwellers.
The “Cold-Water Snorkeler - Fundamentals” program is a program designed to get you out comfortably enjoying local in-water environment in a fun and approachable program for all.
You will learn safety and problem management through various scenarios, fundamental skills and techniques (Including weighting principals if choosing to use weight-belt), the basics of surface snorkelling as well as have the option of exploring diving up to a maximum depth of 5m/16'. Taking the Cold-Water Snorkeler - Fundamentals course will allow you, when completed, to enjoy the aquatic world in a competent and knowledgeable manner.
Course Format:
1 Instructor : 6 Student Open-water ratio
Snorkeler E-learning: Self-Paced prior to entering classroom
Online Academics via Zoom: 2.5 hours
Confined Water: 2.5 hours
Open Water Adventure & Skills: 3.0 hours (1.5-2hrs in water)

COURSE PREREQUISITES:
Have a full understanding the Bottom Dwellers Liability Release found in the link of the waiver set below. Acknowledge your understanding and agreement to this liability release and its terms by completing the Adobe Sign contract presented digitally by Bottom Dwellers prior to payment.
Fully read and understand the terms of the Medical Form and make any arrangements required for doctor’s stamp and signature prior to course.
Swimming experience
Good bill of health and fitness - (see attached medical form)
8 years of age minimum for snorkelling programs with parental guardian present in course. Age requirements are up to the discretion of Bottom Dwellers based on a course by course basis to ensure the age dynamics support a learning environment that everyone can enjoy.
Equipment Requirements:
As part of the Cold-Water Snorkeler - Fundamentals course with Bottom Dwellers you will learn to select, manage and maintain your personal equipment for snorkelling. (All equipment must be appropriate for the local environment in which the course will be taught)
Full Wetsuit (5-7mm for cold-water locations, with a strong recommendation of a 7mm freediving suit or at a minimum 5mm open-cell freediving suit)
Gloves
Socks
Mask and Snorkel
Fins
Weight-belt and weights (optional but recommended)
Timing Device (Optional but recommended if planning to do dives)

How to Register for a Course: (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
Step 1: Confirm Course Availability.
Step 2: Download, read fully and have a complete understanding of the Waiver/Liability Release and Medical Form.
Step 3: Fill out the Registration form below on this page after referencing the course equipment requirements and medical form links below.
Step 4: Upon receipt of your registration form we will send you an ‘Adobe Sign’ Waiver as acknowledgement of your understanding of the document. When you have a full understanding of the Waiver and Liability release and you consent to its terms you may fill out and complete that agreement.
Step 5: After completing your electronic waiver and liability release acknowledgement via Adobe Sign you will be prompted to Make Payment for your seat for the desired available course with us via e-transfer.
Payments are made to Bottom Dwellers via E-transfer. You will receive an electronic receipt for your payment once received which will be input by us manually through Online Store via ‘Squareup’.
